About Adam.

Adam Wood has been interested in the Whitechapel murders of 1888-91 since being told as a young boy that his great grandfather had seen one of the victims' bodies.

As a result, his particular area of interest in the case is the day-to-day life of those living in the East End, and the history of the area.

Over the past forty years Adam has researched the case in depth, with a particular emphasis on the social context and lives of those involved.

Now an author, speaker and tour guide on historic crime and policing, particularly the Victorian era, he was Executive Editor of Ripperologist magazine, the leading publication dedicated to serious study of the Whitechapel murders, for more than twenty-five years until 2023, when he launched a new historic crime magazine, Crime Through Time.

Adam lectures at conferences and gives theatre talks, and is regularly consulted for documentaries and comment by television, radio and podcast companies.

He is passionate about sharing history in an accessible way which makes it both interesting and enjoyable.
